IFR Qualification
The instrument rating (generally referred to as IFR, for Instrument Flight Rules) allows pilots to fly regardless of the weather, even in zero visibility, unlike traditional visual flight.
The training presents the cockpit instruments, navigation with reference to electronic signals, the preparation of flight plans, communication with the control tower and the monitoring of fixed procedures. The pilot must also have a thorough understanding of weather conditions and aviation regulations. This type of flight is required in certain airspaces.
